# After burning millions on AI, Rippling launches employee AI spend tracking tool

## AI commentary

> Folks, AI burn is real — even Rippling couldn't stomach it. This new tool turns chaotic AI spend into manageable line items. For CFOs and IT leaders wrestling with AI budgets, this might be the answer you're looking for.

## At a glance

After its own AI spending spiraled out of control, Rippling this week unveiled AI Spend Console, a product that tracks individual and team employee AI spending. The tool helps enterprises manage fragmented AI subscriptions and usage, identify waste and potential risks. Rippling burned millions on AI within months before realizing the lack of visibility caused costs to balloon, prompting it to productize its internal solution. AI Spend Console covers major AI services like Microsoft Copilot and OpenAI, offering budget controls and approval workflows. The move underscores a growing software demand for managing enterprise AI spend.
