- KAISEN: Reproducible Subgroup Fairness Auditing for Clinical Risk ModelsT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
KAISEN is a reproducible subgroup fairness auditing pipeline for clinical risk models, covering subgroup stratification, disparity measurement, mechanism diagnostics, post-hoc mitigation, and drift monitoring. Using a synthetic benchmark of 16 disease tasks, 15 social-determinant axes from Healthy People 2030, and three prespecified intersections, it finds: significance counts track raw equalized-odds difference only after standardization by minimum detectable effect; per-group threshold optimization reduces EOD in all 48 held-out runs, while Platt scaling behaves like a coin flip; the mechanism diagnostic fails silently under proxy misspecification; and CUSUM drift detection thresholds do not transfer across cohorts. The audit should report variance, not averages.
- Anthropic says its own AI models breached three companies during security testsT2TechCrunch:AI(RSS)
Anthropic has confirmed that its own AI models successfully breached three companies' network systems during internal security tests. The revelation emerged when Anthropic reviewed its historical logs following OpenAI's models' intrusion into Hugging Face. The company stated that the tests were conducted within authorized scope, and that vulnerabilities have been patched and safeguards strengthened. This incident again demonstrates that frontier AI models possess highly autonomous offensive capabilities. It also underscores the urgent need to address the dual-use nature of AI technology in cybersecurity, as the same capabilities that can defend networks can also be used to attack them. The news has significant implications for AI governance and security practices.

8- AskChem: Claim-Centered Infrastructure for Chemistry Literature SynthesisT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Chemistry literature synthesis often requires assembling specific findings scattered across many publications, yet existing literature-search systems primarily return ranked document lists. As a result, scientists and AI agents need to locate relevant information, verify provenance, and assemble cross-paper answers manually. AskChem changes the unit of retrieval from the paper to provenance-carrying claims: each paper is converted into atomic, typed claims grounded by a source DOI and a verbatim quote or explicit evidence locator. AskChem exposes complementary structures including a stabilized faceted taxonomy, an evidence graph, and an exploratory living taxonomy. It currently indexes 2.4M claims from 147K papers and provides web, REST, SDK, and MCP access for AI agents. On AskChem-Bench, grounding a GPT-5.5 reader in AskChem yields 100% resolvable DOIs, compared with 88.3% without retrieval, and the highest citation density among five tested systems.
- Would You Walk to the Car Wash? Revealing the Salience Bias of Large Language Models in Commonsense ReasoningT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This paper introduces 'Salience Bias', a phenomenon where large language models (LLMs) in commonsense reasoning are hijacked by conspicuous irrelevant distractors (e.g., numerical values), causing them to ignore implicit physical or commonsense prerequisites. The authors construct the SaliTrap Benchmark, a high-quality dataset across four trap dimensions, and evaluate 12 state-of-the-art LLMs. They find that all mainstream models suffer significantly from salience bias, with severity scaling with distractor density, and that detecting the trap is often decoupled from avoiding it. Crucially, by re-eliciting models with the task framing stripped away, they show that over 90% of sycophantic-compliance failures stem from knowledge suppression rather than knowledge absence: the requisite commonsense is intrinsically present but actively crowded out by salient distractors. Lightweight inference-time prompting alone substantially closes the gap without retraining. The findings relocate the bottleneck of commonsense reasoning failures from model competence to elicitation, and SaliTrap is released as a testbed.
- Frontis-MA1: Training an AI4AI Model towards Recursive Self-Improvement in Machine Learning EngineeringT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This paper introduces OpenMLE, an open full-stack system for studying recursive self-improvement (RSI) in machine learning engineering (MLE). It includes verifiable environments (OpenMLE-Gym), operator learning (OpenMLE-RL), and long-horizon search (OpenMLE-Evo). The authors post-train Frontis-MA1, a 35B meta-evolution agent, using four atomic program-evolution operators (Draft, Improve, Debug, Crossover) aligned across training and inference. On MLE-Bench Lite under a 12-hour per-task budget on a single RTX 4090 with 12 GB VRAM, Frontis-MA1 raises Medal Average from 39.39% to 60.61% with OpenMLE-Evo, and reaches 71.21% with OpenMLE-Evo-Max, surpassing GPT-5.5+Codex and approaching GPT-5.6 Sol and the 2.8T Kimi K3. On held-out NatureBench Lite, both components transfer, improving Match-SOTA from 50% to 70% with the trained model and from 20% to 50% with OpenMLE-Evo. Model weights and the full stack are open-sourced.
- Doubly Robust Functional Representation Learning for Longitudinal Causal Inference with Irregular HistoriesT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Longitudinal causal studies often record histories as irregular functional fragments, such as laboratory values, physiologic signals, and sensor streams. Standard doubly robust estimators usually require scalar summaries, while sequence learners optimize prediction losses that need not stabilize the efficient influence function (EIF). We propose Doubly Robust Functional Representation Learning (DR-FRL), a cross-fitted workflow that turns irregular histories into estimand-targeted states. Functional and temporal encoders map point clouds and prior histories into states, with EIF-targeted validation and diagnostics to support the estimating equation. Simulations show gains under high-dimensional functional confounding, informative measurement, weak support, or heavy-tailed pseudo-outcomes. A VitalDB audit shows that for this ICU-disposition endpoint, scalar laboratory summaries already carry much endpoint-relevant information.
- APO: Unsupervised Atomic Policy Optimization for 3D Structure Prediction of Atomic SystemsT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Predicting the 3D structures of atomic systems is fundamental to materials science and drug discovery. Existing flow-matching models like FlowDPO rely on supervised preference learning to align with ground-truth coordinates, but experimental labels are prohibitively expensive. This work proposes APO, a fully unsupervised alignment framework that removes the need for reference structures. Using a dual-reward mechanism—structural mode reinforcement and thermodynamic stability—APO self-corrects within sampled groups, outperforming fully supervised baselines on crystal and antibody benchmarks while improving inference efficiency.
- Agents That Certify Their Own Exploits: Confidence-Scheduled Restricted Responses for Safe Opponent ExploitationT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
In two-player zero-sum imperfect-information games, a Nash-equilibrium strategy secures the game value but foregoes extra gains from flawed opponents. Diffuse deviations pose a particular challenge: binary release rules may gather too little evidence, while a full best response to an incomplete opponent model can be exploitable. We introduce budget-constrained confidence-scheduled restricted responses (CS-RNR), the first opponent-exploitation method whose safety guarantee is a certificate the agent computes on the strategy it actually deploys, so every exploit it commits to is audited. The method tracks pooled action frequencies with anytime-valid confidence sequences and treats a frequency as exploitable only once its interval separates from an equilibrium reference. A conservative opponent model is built, and restricted-response solve yields candidate counter-strategies over a grid of pin levels. Before deployment, each candidate is evaluated by a full-tree best response, and the certificate is compared with a budget and committed atomically. In Leduc hold'em, CS-RNR obtains 6.2x the steady-state gain of a money-verified binary gate while staying within budget; a trajectory mixture reaches 13.6x. Across Leduc, Liar's Dice, and 5-rank Leduc, all 36,000 audited hands satisfy the certificate tolerance.
- PAC-MAN: Perception-Aware CBF-RL for Whole-Body Safety in Humanoid DodgeballT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This paper presents PAC-MAN, a perception-aware CBF-RL framework that couples control-barrier safety with deployment-realistic onboard sensing for whole-body humanoid dodgeball. The policy uses only segmentation-masked depth from a head-mounted camera, with training-time CBF guidance for clearance to every body link and an adversarial motion prior to regularize evasive reflexes. Evaluated on a controlled any-link contact benchmark with seeded throws, the policy approaches a privileged state oracle in both single-throw and deployment-loop regimes. The authors find that barrier structure depends on perceptual observability: Joint-CBF performs best with accurate ball states, degrades under fixed-camera observations when used only as training guidance, and recovers with a ball-tracking gimbal or privileged runtime filter. They deploy a lightweight Link-CBF policy zero-shot on the Unitree G1 in the real world, achieving 95% throw evasion success and semantic segmentation to dodge different balls.
- AISPA: User-Centric System Prompt Auditing for Large Language Model ApplicationsT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
System prompts govern the behavior of foundation models in AI applications, yet commercial products rarely disclose them, creating a trust and accountability gap. This paper introduces AISPA, a user-centric framework that audits system prompts along eight dimensions. Analyzing 3,249 instructions from 88 commercial AI products, the authors find protective instructions are widespread but shallow: only 24% of products cover all eight dimensions, and roughly 40% contain at least one instruction that works against user interests. The study calls for greater transparency, standardization, and independent oversight of system prompts.

1- Bruce Schneier: Writing Is a Gym for Thinking – AI Can't Replace ItT2Simon Willison 博客(Atom)
In a recent piece, security expert Bruce Schneier stresses that his writing assignments for students are gym tasks, not work tasks. The act of writing — thinking, outlining, drafting, editing, arguing, critiquing, and revising — builds critical thinking skills essential for future careers. Without this mental exercise, skills atrophy. Employers are already noticing the erosion caused by AI misuse. Tags: AI ethics, writing, AI misuse.
