8- GB/T-Bench: Benchmarking and Enhancing LLMs for Rule-Intensive Review of National Standard DocumentsT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Large language models are increasingly used in complex professional tasks, yet their capabilities in rule-intensive document review remain underevaluated. The team introduces GB/T-Bench, the first benchmark for structured review of national standard documents, featuring a hierarchical review taxonomy, 25 diagnosable error types, and a controllable counterexample generation mechanism, processing 488 documents into 7,306 traceable error instances. They also propose GB/T-Reviewer, a multi-agent framework that converts review knowledge into specialized skills and coordinates global inspection, targeted diagnosis, rule scanning, and result verification. Experiments with 14 mainstream LLMs reveal a substantial human-LLM gap: the strongest model achieves only 0.3280 CMCS versus 0.6640 for experts, while GB/T-Reviewer raises the best CMCS to 0.5094, paving the way for trustworthy AI in standardization and other high-stakes document domains.
- The Low Frequency Trap: Video Language Models Fail at Simple Event BookkeepingT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This study introduces a trace-grounded parametric profiling framework for event counting in three controlled video tasks: bouncing-ball wall contacts, visual blinks, and categorical state transitions. Across 2,190 videos, the researchers systematically vary event count N and frequency F while holding rendering fixed, using executable event traces for capability-surface estimation and timestamp-level evaluation. Results reveal a staged temporal failure: Gemini 3.6 Flash reliably counts persistent state transitions up to 12 events at 0.5 and 1.0 Hz, yet shows no reliable positive-count region for transient blinking events. In the high-count, high-frequency regime, only 0.2% of final counts are correct and the model recovers just 18.1% of true events. Increasing sampling rate boosts Bounce Ball accuracy from 19.6% to 29.3%, but the reported sequence agrees with ground truth only 3.7% of the time, indicating extra frames inflate final scores without producing faithful event recovery. The study shifts video evaluation from aggregate accuracy metrics to detailed diagnostics of temporal reasoning failures.
- AV-AIVAT: 74x Cheaper Agent Evaluation with Certified Anytime-Valid Stopping in Imperfect-Information GamesT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Determining which of two agents is stronger requires playing games until evidence outweighs luck, and every game costs money, inference, or expert time. Fixed-budget evaluations either waste resources after the result is settled or stop too early to distinguish agents, while naive optional stopping with ordinary confidence intervals invalidates the guarantee. AV-AIVAT combines AIVAT's variance reduction with continuously monitored confidence sequences to deliver certified anytime-valid stopping in imperfect-information games. Across 15 LLM agent configurations spanning 71,439 paired Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em hands, AIVAT reduces variance by a median 54x; at nominal 95% level and ±1 Big Blind precision, raw outcomes need a median 74x as many hands to stop. The Empirical-Bernstein CS provides exact finite-sample certification with a structurally justified bound on corrected payoffs, making the evaluation auditable and reproducible at the stopping time.
- Benchmarking the Benchmarks: Evaluating Benchmarks for Conversational AgentsT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This paper introduces a reference-free framework that employs LLM judges to evaluate the quality of conversational-agent benchmarks across task consistency, complexity, and policy coverage, while providing actionable diagnostics of weaknesses. The framework is validated by showing agreement with independent human annotations and by evaluating benchmarks generated by LLMs of varying capabilities, as well as benchmarks subjected to controlled quality-degrading perturbations. Across domains and judge models, the proposed metrics consistently distinguish between quality levels. The framework also applies to manually curated benchmarks, offering a practical approach for assessing both synthetic and curated conversational-agent benchmarks.
- U-OPSD: Unsupervised On-Policy Self-Distillation without Any SupervisionT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
This paper introduces U-OPSD, an on-policy self-distillation method that requires no external supervision. It samples multiple rollouts from the model, constructs a pseudo-solution via majority voting under a self-consistency threshold, then conditions a teacher distribution on the shortest pseudo-solution and distills it into prefixes of the model's longest incorrect completion, enabling precise self-correction. Across benchmarks such as AIME and MATH500, U-OPSD consistently improves over base models and matches or surpasses supervised methods with ground truth (e.g., OPSD and GRPO), achieving notable gains on Qwen3 4B and 8B scales.
- CalibForge: Adversarial Solver Calibration for Scaling Learnable Terminal TasksT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
CalibForge presents an autonomous terminal-task synthesis system that revises candidate tasks through adversarial solver calibration using verified solver behavior. Multi-solver calibration targets disagreement within a heterogeneous solver pool, while contrastive calibration targets a strong-pass/weak-fail relation, both operationalizing a solver-relative learnable zone. Using CalibForge, the authors construct 5,431 calibrated terminal tasks. Ablations show that both strategies yield more effective supervision than authoring and validation alone or single-solver feedback. Models trained on the full collection achieve 32.58% and 47.57% on Terminal-Bench 2.0, with the largest improvements reaching 24.71 points on Terminal-Bench 2.0, 27.68 points on SWE-bench Pro, and 30.04 points on Doc2Repo. These results support solver-relative learnability as a practical target for constructing effective and transferable agent training data.
- A Six-Dimensional Taxonomy of Post-Training Adaptation Techniques with Applications in AI GovernanceT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Post-training adaptation has become central to modern machine learning, covering retraining, fine-tuning, parameter-efficient adaptation, alignment, retrieval augmentation, model editing, unlearning, calibration, and multimodal instruction tuning. However, the literature remains fragmented, making it difficult to compare methods or describe how a trained model has been modified. This survey synthesizes the field and introduces a six-dimensional taxonomy organized by mechanism, goal, data requirement, persistence, structural scope, and model type. It distinguishes commonly conflated terms such as fine-tuning, retrieval augmentation, and prompting, and shows how adaptation strategies evolve from traditional machine learning to deep learning, foundation models, large language models, and multimodal large language models. It also maps relationships including inheritance, supersession, hybridization, and layered deployment stacks. The resulting vocabulary supports technical documentation, model-change tracking, and governance analysis. The survey identifies open challenges in evaluation, reproducibility, persistent inference-time adaptation, unlearning, multimodal adaptation, and governance-aware workflows.
- RRC: Unlocking Generative Reward Models in LLM Reinforcement Learning via Ranking-Based Reward ConstructionT2arXiv AI/CL/LG(论文)
Recent advances in reward modeling show a paradigm shift from discriminative to generative reward models. However, generative reward models underperform in reinforcement learning (RL) despite strong ranking capabilities. This paper identifies a mismatch between the comparative nature of generative reward modeling and the scalar scoring paradigm of existing RL algorithms. To bridge this gap, they propose Ranking-based Reward Construction (RRC), which derives rewards from relative preference rankings via two complementary strategies: self-competitive ranking and anchor-guided ranking. Experiments on open-ended chat and reasoning benchmarks show consistent gains over existing methods. Code is open-sourced.
